Howard and Stephens praying for the immediate payment of compensation in respect of their pier in front of Marine Lot 184, and under The Praya, Wharves and Piers Ordinance, 1893.
I have declined to accede to the Petitioners' request for the payment of compensation for the following reasons:-
(1) For whatever other relief shall seem meet to Your Lordship. The chief question involved is whether the time has arrived for the payment of the proportion of compensation payable for the Petitioners' Wharf under the Praya Reclamation Ordinance 1889.
The wharf was originally built for the purpose of loading and discharging goods and cargo from junks, cargo-boats, and launches, and it has always been and is still being used for that purpose.
